I have just finished reading a book that will literally change your life and your business. The legendary Herb Cohen writes in a storytelling way, which allows the reader to understand the concepts and strategies of negotiation which he explains. I cannot express enough how important interpersonal skills, selling your ideas, and coming up with creative, innovative solutions that benefit both parties is. After all, that is what negotiation is all about. No matter where you are in life, you are in a negotiation. I have just finished reading Herb’s first book published in 1980 and more relevant than ever today titled You Can Negotiate Anything. I could not put the book down. It took me a few extra nights of reading due to my busy schedule, but had I had an afternoon open, I would have devoured the information in that time. Herb is amazing at taking complex issues and breaking them down into simplistic ideas that everyone can understand. He illustrates these concepts and strategies with stories that you can connect with. By connecting with the stories, you can then pull ideas from them to use in your own negotiation situations. Brilliant!
