Dependance On Anything Is Never Good
My Internet went out just a few minutes ago. I didn’t really realize how much I depend on the Internet to get things done. From doing research, paying the bills, keeping in touch with friends, writing this blog, it all requires the Internet. And I love the Internet. Just not when I have it, and then I don’t. That is the most frustrating. On top of that, trouble shooting to get it back can be worse.
Dependance on anything is never a good idea. However, that is what a lot of companies want consumers to do. In their minds, depend on that company for a service or product and they have a customer for life. Addictive substances such as tobacco and alcohol are great examples of this. They actually are addicting, which creates customers for the life of the addiction. Coffee is another great example. And the Internet. Because, as much as people want to shrug it off, I think a large majority of the population with Internet access, is addicted to it.
How do you break free of being dependent on things such as coffee and the internet?
