My Favorite Information Sites
Just wanted to share a couple of my favorite information sites. Everyone has certain websites that they immediately go check out on a daily or near daily basis. I know I have mine. Some of my favorite sites are ones that are packed with great content, world events, and sports coverage. Here are three of my favorite:
1. Alltop.com: Alltop is a news aggregate co-founded by famous author and marketing genius Guy Kawasaki. The site has information and links to blogs and sites on just about every topic you can think of. A great resource for inspiration, research, and news. I happen to be featured on there as well. Check it out at Branding.Alltop.com.
2. CNN.com: While I do not always agree with the spin that the media puts on certain stories, I do like CNN.com’s website. It is easy to navigate and offers a plethora of news at your fingertips.
3. Fortune.com: One of my favorite topics to research and learn about is economics and money. Fortune.com offers a wide variety of information and stories relating to money and the economics of the world.
Utilizing the Internet is Being Environmentally Friendly
As I was creating this list, I thought about getting some magazine subscriptions as I love to read. However, the more I thought about it, I realized that it wouldn’t make sense for me at this time for a couple reasons.
1. My travel schedule is getting quite full. This makes it quite hard to keep up to date with magazines when I am out of state or out of the country nearly half the month every month on business.
2. Because I am not home very much, it would be a waste of paper and therefore hurtful to the environment. I would much rather read my news and magazines online on my iPhone or my MacBook.
In Conclusion
So what does my favorite information sites have to do with deciding to not get magazine subscriptions? The information sites I described above are free and can be accessed worldwide from any internet connection. They do not waste paper and due to my travel schedule, I am able to keep up to date with the information I am looking for. What are your favorite information sites? Do you agree that magazine subscriptions are wasteful? Leave a comment below.
