There are so many Twitter tools and applications that it can be overwhelming which to use and which to avoid. To make this post simple, I have compiled a list of top Twitter tools to help you connect with people with similar interests, gain more followers, deliver content to your readers while you are busy doing other things and so much more!
Top Twitter Tools
Theses are the tools that I use to help manage my Twitter account. While I don’t have too many followers just yet, I do not have a whole lot of time to tweet either. So these tools help out in both of those departments. In no particular order:
1. Tweetdeck: This is a great service that you can use to manage how you follow. You can create categories, there is a tiny URL built into the application and you can even link to Facebook when you send out a tweet. Pretty sweet!
2. Mr.Tweet: Based on what you talk about on Twitter, Mr.Tweet will find people that share similar interests and make recommendations to you. This is a great way meet new people and grow your follower base at the same time. And it is free!
3. Twollow: I just discovered this free service. You sign in with your Twitter account, put in search terms that match your target audience, and Twollow will find people that match. Then you can automatically follow them. You can create as many search terms as possible and Twollow will let you follow up to 500 people automatically!
4. Twellow: You have heard of the Yellow Pages, right? Well think of this as the Twitter Yellow Pages. You can create a free profile and add yourself up to 10 different categories. Based on other’s search terms, your Twitter profile will be found. When you are logged in and do a search, say for “business development” you will see all the people related to that search term. You can immediately follow them and because it is a search term related to your topic and target audience, chances are they will follow you back.
5. Twitterfeed: I have been using this one since I began using Twitter nearly a year ago. This allows you to pull RSS feeds from your blogs, from google, from anywhere and feed it to your Twitter account. This helps to streamline the process after creating a blog post.
6. Twitterfollower: The idea behind this service is simple: simply follow people from the available list and they will follow you back. If you are going for the biggest number of followers, this is a great free service. If you are interested in highly targeted followers, this will probably not work for you.
A Special Bonus
These are all great tools to use and I highly recommend them. However, if new to Twitter or wanting to set up more of an automatic system, there is a great product that I think you should look into. If you have been following this blog, you will see that I very rarely try and sell any sort of product or service. So when I do, you can bet that it is something that I have used, have trusted, and will stand behind.
Bill Crosby has created a great video series showing how you can utilize some of the highlighted Twitter tools above to create an automated system for Twitter and even make money doing it. Why not check it out? Click Here for more information.
