Unlikely Best Friends
Hafa Adai from Guam! It has been a great trip here, both business wise and sight-seeing as well. I will post photos when I get back to the island of Oahu. I was checking my email the other day and was sent a link to this video. As I watched it, it was amazing to see how an unlikely pair of animals, a dog and an orangutan, have become best friends over the last two years. Dogs are typically scared of elephants, which is what Suryia was riding on his way down to the river to play. But Roscoe the dog ran alongside the elephant, thinking nothing of it. Now, Orangutans are typically scared of dogs, but Suryia latched onto Roscoe and they quickly became friends. The video shows them playing, wrestling, hanging out, and even Suryia walking Roscoe on a leash! Pretty funny- and amazing at the same time. After seeing this video, I had to share it with you.
As you know, I care deeply about the environment, rainforests, and orangutans as well as many other animals that are endangered and on the edge of extinction.
How You Can Help
If you care about the environment and want to give back, I invite you to check out these links to great organizations who are on a mission to save the orangutans and rainforests.
RedApes.org: This is a great organization that I participate in by adopting an orangutan for a year. Last Christmas, I adopted Dodo for my younger sister as a gift to her and to Dodo. For a small donation each month, you too can help save an orangutan who may have lost its family due to hunters and the burning of rainforests in order to create Palm Oil which is found in bio-diesal products. You can follow them on twitter @RedApes.
RareSpeciesFund.org: This is the organization that Suryia from the video gets help from. This organization is dedicated to helping wildlife all over the globe and to help stop deforestation from happening. Illegal mining and logging is being driven by old-fashioned greed and is what could ultimately cause the extinction of rare and beautiful animals who should be allowed to live in peace on this Earth alongside us people.
I hope you enjoy the video and I hope that you decide to do your part to help the environment and to protect the fast-depleting rainforests and the animals that call that habitat home from extinction. Leave a comment below- let’s start a dialogue about how we can help! Would love to hear your thoughts.

Saw you had a SV badge so I stopped by to help your cause. I think SocialVibe is doing a great job making it easy to help. Good luck with your cause.
