Overcoming Blogger’s Block
Writing can be a form of relaxation, a powerful marketing tool, and/or a huge ball of stress. Many people choose not to write simply because they don’t know what to write about. Or maybe they don’t enjoy writing. However, if they choose to blog, if they choose to have a presence in the online world, and if they have not hired these services out to others, then it is their responsibility to write. Other people may enjoy writing, see how it can be powerful in marketing, and don’t find it stressful- except they get stuck.
Planning Ahead: Blogging Tips for Business
Over the last month or so, I have been researching and blogging about many online business strategies that can be effective for small businesses and offline businesses looking to build an online presence. While this blog is not focused on creating online companies or internet marketing, those models can be studied and used to help the service-based industry. And that is my focus.
An Entrepreneur Is…
There are many definitions as to what an entrepreneur is, what they do, why they do what they do. Over the last few years, the trend online is to “make money from home,” or “become your own boss.” These phrases are attractive to some people, and they could be associated with being an entrepreneur. However, many of the systems being pitched online are designed for the end user to be more of a free-lancer. Someone who would not necessarily create a corporation or true business entity.
Online Content Creation: Slow Down & Proof Read First
Part of my daily routine is to surf the web, reading some of my favorite sites, commenting on blogs and articles, and interacting with others. In my reading and research, I have come across some great articles that have been written very well, are clear and concise. And then I have come across articles where the sentences do not even come close to making since. This makes reading and researching that much more complicated, having to sift through the hastily thrown together content versus those that have taken the time to create something of quality and value.

B2B Series: Vision
The vision. Different from the mission statement, the vision expands upon the mission statement in slightly more detail. Still succinct and to the point, the vision offers further explanation to aid the mission statement. The vision statement takes the conceptual ideas of the entrepreneur, translates them into a simplistic form, and expands upon the mission statement.
B2B Series: Mission Statement
The mission statement. A statement that should succinctly state what the company’s purpose is for being. A statement that should capture the target market’s attention as it is aligned with their (the target markets’) needs. A statement that all employees of the company should know by heart and one that empowers them to work hard to meet the mission, both for themselves and for the company.
Choosing A Branded World- How Do You Decide?
In yesterday’s post, I discussed the trend that companies and their brands are becoming more and more incompatible. Competition is becoming more and more fierce, and therefore, gaining a customer and their trust is critical. Just as a theme park is a world envisioned by the imaginations of its designers and entrepreneurs, companies have started to create worlds of their own.

Service Industry Equals Information Products
As a professional in the service industry, what is it that you are truly providing? You may sell a service to a client, but what you are producing for that client is a product. What type of product is it? It is an information product. It may be in the form of a website, a report, a slideshow presentation, etc.
